Review on a How to Article

http://www.wikihow.com/Pack-a-Sleeping-Bag

The How to article on how to pack a sleeping bag for backpacking.

Some characteristics that make a good how to article is, well for one, explain the the thing you are doing the How To on. Also another characteristic for making a good how to article would be to not over explain something and make the How To boring. In my opinion those are the only two things you should do in order to have a good How To article.

Rubric
5- All the time
4-Most of the time
3-Just over have the time
2- Below half the time
1-Rarely
0-Never

There are no more than three grammatical or spelling errors in the article.(5)
The article has a catchy headline that makes you want to read it. (3)
The article has a purpose, explaining benefits to the reader.(5)
The steps in the article are clear and easy to understand.(5)                            18/20

What I think is missing in the rubric to make a good how to article is, how boring it is or how interesting it is. If the article grabs the readers attention then is should get a 4 or 5 if it doesn't and it is very boring to read it should get a 1,2 or 3.

Movie Review: Finding Forrester

Finding Forrester Movie Review

The movie Finding Forrester appeared in the year 2000, the production company that brought us into the world of Jamal and William Forrester was Columbia. The two main actors in the film are Sean Connery and Rob Brown.
Finding Forrester is a film that at first glance to me was a movie that I would have no interest in and was only watching it because we had to in class. Once the movie started to pick up a bit it was more and more interesting to me. Finding Forrester is about a 16 year old boy named Jamal who lives in the bronx and plays basketball, but one talent that he has other than basketball is one that you wouldn’t expect is that he is an exceptional writer and writes on his own without anyone making him do it. Jamal who is played by (Rob Brown) befriends a very reclusive man who doesn’t leave his apartment, on accident who Jamal and his friends refer to him as the window. Jamal was dared by his friends to go into his apartment when he thought that the man was asleep but then was scared off by the man and forgets his pack, when he finally gets his pack back he noticed that his writing is marked by the man in the window then goes to the man's apartment and properly meets the who’s real name is William Forrester  who is played by (Sean Connery) and apologizes to him for going into his home. Then William helps Jamal with his work and then Jamal gets a scholarship to go to a private school where he can show his true talents as a writer. When Jamal gets his scholarship to a private school, one of his teachers are suspicious of his work because they don’t expect it from him and Mr. Crawford (the teacher) is also suspicious because of his background and his colour. That situation jeopardizes his chance of playing in a big basketball tournament. There is a lot of twist and turns in this movie and that just another great reason to watch this amazing film.
I could compare this movie to Chris Gardner and his story of being a homeless salesman to a multi millionaire the movie about Chris Gardner is “The Pursuit of Happiness”. I would compare Jamal to Chris in “The Pursuit of Happiness” because you would really expect greatness from them, It's kind of harsh to say but in the beginning of both movies both of them are just regular guys do there usually stuff, then something happens in there life that changes everything and they accomplish things that not many people would think. For example Jamal becomes one of the best in his private school which nobody would really think happen, but would got him at that point was meeting William Forrester which was the change in Jamal’s life.
In my opinion the part of the film that had really good quality was the acting I thought it was spot on. Sean Conner played his part well and was really into the movie, and Rob Brown who only auditioned just to be an extra but ended up getting the main character, you would think that he was acting in blockbuster films for years the way he played the part of Jamal. Sean Connery and Rob brown evolve throughout the film, Jamal was just a young man playing basketball and writing in his notebooks, but then we changed from that and embraced his talent of writing and earned a scholarship to Mailor which is a private school. Also William Forrester who is played by Sean Connery was just, what appeared to be an outcast who was constantly looking out of his window, to an author that made a sort of comeback and befriends Jamal.

The theme of this movie would be friendship and how crazy things that happen between people can evolve into something great. What I took from this film don’t judge a book by its cover for example just because someone came from a rough place doesn’t mean they can’t do something great. In the end I would highly recommend this movie to watch.
